Kia ora koutou,


Welcome to this week’s edition of the Friday 5! Where we celebrate all the wonderful on-going work at the NRHCC.


1. Last weekend the NRHCC Outreach team were invited to support the NZ Fiji Families Wellbeing Trust Health Expo along with a range of other health providers. The team were an integral addition offering vaccinations, Hepatitis C tests and positive connection with the community providing Winter Wellness manaaki packs to attendees.



2. This week NRHCC had a Spring in its step with the launch of STEP-tember! As of Thursday 1st September, twelve NRHCC teams have registered to take part in the first NRHCC STEP-tember. A prize will be awarded to the winning team at the end of the month so to our nominated Team Leads, encourage your team to get active wherever and whenever! Please note your step counts are not limited to work hours but 24hrs a day, 7days a week within the month of September. Here are a list of teams below!
















3. As part of the NRHCC Maori Comms team Winter Wellness campaign, 1,000 wellbeing packs have been made and delivered around Tāmaki Makaurau and Tai Tokerau to support immunisation events specifically for kuia and kaumatua. The packs included some thermal socks, packets of soup, a wheat bag and flu educational material.












4. The second Covid-19 booster became available for all people aged 50 and over and for healthcare, aged care and disability workers aged 30 and over on 1st July. To date 150,000 second booster doses have been administered in Metro Auckland!


5. Mālō e lelei! On Monday next week we celebrate Tonga Language Week. We encourage you all to learn a few useful Tongan words throughout the week.
